The Grand Haven event is sponsored by Coldwell Banker Woodland Schmidt and Lake Michigan Credit Union.
Organizers of the downtown egg hunt said they were ecstatic with the turnout – and the weather, which remained warm and dry despite the possibility of rain in the forecast.
All of the eggs were collected within 20 minutes of the 11 a.m. starting time.
Spring Lake Lions Club members scattered more than 3,000 eggs at the park on the east end of the village. Children found candy and other prizes inside.
Almost a dozen egg hunts were held across the area Saturday morning and early afternoon.
