Charges have been filed in federal court for a Robinson Township man who once ran for state representative.

William John Easterling Jr. is facing two counts of sexual exploitation and attempted sexual exploitation for allegedly instructing a 16-year-old boy to record a video of himself masturbating back in December 2015. Easterling allegedly possessed the video.

Easterling also faces a count of attempted sexual exploitation of a child for attempting to persuade a boy age 13-15 to do the same between September 2015 and March 2017.

Easterling is also facing a child pornography charge.

He faces no less than 15 years in prison, but no more than 30 years, for each of the sexual exploitation of a child and attempted child exploitation charges.

According to state voting records, Easterling ran to represent the state House 89th District back in 2010. He lost in the primary. At that time, he was a certified automotive instructor and member of the Robinson Township Zoning Board of Appeals.
