The program works like this:
— Students who earn a minimum grade point average of 3.0 in a trimester earn a Blue Rewards Card.
— Students who earn a minimum grade point average of 4.0 earn a Gold Rewards Card.
Those cards give the students discounts, and sometimes even free products from local merchants.
Qualifying students are eligible for a bi-monthly drawing for an “up-front” parking spot. Those student who earn a minimum grade point average of 3.50 after six trimesters earn an academic letter if they are a junior and an academic pin if they are a senior.
Strainer and other committee members have been working diligently on developing new perks to honor GHHS students.
This week, uring the school’s Homecoming Week, Renaissance card holders will get $1 off admission to any sporting event.
Strainer said the committee is always on the lookout for businesses that want to support the program. For more information, call Strainer at 844-5129 or e-mail her at firstname.lastname@example.org, or call Sheila Steffel at 844-7421 or e-mail her at email@example.com.
