Lakeshore Christian students reach food drive goal

The other teachers quickly decided that they would like to involve their classes as well, and Anderson’s small project had become a schoolwide contest.
The goal was to reach 1,000 items of nonperishable goods. That goal was met a couple of days before Thanksgiving Day.
Anderson said she got the idea from reading Love INC’s newsletter, which stated that their pantry stores were low. As an incentive, Lakeshore custodian Mark George, whose wife is also an elementary teacher at the school, designed a graphic chart to document the school’s progress.
“(The picture) was a cornucopia,” George said. “Each piece of food in the cornucopia represented 10 food items.”
