The presentation of master plan concepts will take place Thursday, May 16, at Spring Lake High School. It will be in the school's commons area from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

During the presentation, residents will learn the guiding principles for future facility upgrades and concepts that respond to the vision for the district’s future. After the table is set, Superintendent Dennis Furton said participants will participate in interactive groups to discuss their ideas and comments about the concepts.

“We need to continually refine these ideas,” he said.

A special school board meeting is set for 7 p.m. May 21 for trustees to discuss and hear feedback about the concepts. The meeting’s location has yet to be determined.

Furton said the board will vote on the proposal on June 24.

Another public forum before then is possible, Furton said, depending on what comes out of the May 16 and 21 meetings.

Community members participated in two vision planning sessions in March to help the district envision the future of its schools.
