Top 5 things to do this weekend

(1) Jingle Bell Parade — 6-7 p.m. Saturday in downtown Grand Haven. This annual holiday favorite is hosted by the local Chamber of Commerce. The bright-light floats and jingling walkers begin on Franklin Avenue and march west to Harbor Drive, then turn onto Washington and head to Central Park. At the park, Santa and Mrs. Claus will get off their sleigh, greet kids and pose for pictures, and lead the crowd in a Christmas song sing-along. The lights are also turned on for the Community Christmas Tree at the park. Keep an eye on the weather: The forecast is looking like rain as I write this, and past parades have weathered through near-blizzards.

(2) Community Christmas Collage — 2 p.m. Sunday at United Methodist Church of the Dunes, 717 Sheldon Road, Grand Haven. Looking to enjoy some holiday music indoors? The Prevailing Winds Community Band, under the direction of Bob Fullerton, will join the Church of the Dunes choirs for this free concert. Donations will be accepted. The program will feature Christmas music by soloists; plus performers of choral, instrumental and bell music. Jim Bond will narrate a rendition of “The Bells of Christmas," Jim and Dee Dufford will provide solos to “Baby, It’s Cold Outside," and Marna Jeffrey and Melody Schneider will perform piano music with choir accompaniment. A sing-along and refreshments will highlight the afternoon program.

(3) Rosy Mound Holiday Art and Craft Fair — 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Rosy Mound Elementary School, 14016 Lakeshore Ave., Grand Haven Township. The school's hallways will be filled with more than 30 local artists, displaying and selling their art, wares and crafts for a unique Christmas shopping experience.

(4) Grand Haven church craft fairs — Saturday. The United Methodist Church of the Dunes, 717 Sheldon Road, will host its annual Christmas Boutique and Cookie Walk from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The St. John's Heavenly Creations Craft Show is 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, 525 Taylor Ave.

(5) Santa’s Workshop — 2-3 p.m. Saturday at Spring Lake District Library, 123 E. Exchange St. Children can talk with Santa and create holiday crafts.
