Longtime Grand Haven resident and philanthropist Creason has followed in his family’s tradition of working within the community and in giving back through supporting and volunteering in projects to make the Grand Haven area a good place to live, work and play.

Creason was honored this past May at the local Chamber of Commerce's annual dinner as the 2013 Spirit of Community Award recipient for devoting time and energy to improve the quality of life for others, and for demonstrating leadership and initiative in the development of volunteer projects.

Among his many accomplishments, Creason was instrumental in establishing Winterfest. As an active member and president of the Grand Haven Rotary Club, he was the guiding force behind the Mulligan’s Hollow Ski Lodge and the Splash Pad located downtown near the city marina. He has served on the board of the Chamber of Commerce, North Ottawa Community Health System, Loutit Foundation and the Grand Haven Area Community Foundation.

The 2013 Jingle Bell Parade begins at 6 p.m. at the Ottawa County parking lot on Franklin Avenue, under the direction of Parade Director Dennis McKee and the Chamber Ambassadors. The parade will continue west down Franklin to Harbor Drive, north on Harbor Drive to Washington Avenue, and will proceed east on Washington to Central Park for the lighting of the Community Christmas Tree and a carol sing with Santa and Mrs. Claus. The Salvation Army canteen will be at Central Park serving hot chocolate.

Community Shores Bank and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan are the corporate sponsors of the Jingle Bell Parade and lighting of the Christmas tree in Central Park. The Grand Haven Board of Light & Power is the sponsor of the lights and decorations for the Central Park fountain.
