ZEELAND TWP. — A Hudsonville woman was injured when a semi-truck pulled into her car’s path Tuesday morning on Chicago Drive near 80th Avenue in Zeeland Township.

Camareth DeBoer, 24, was in stable condition at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids following the 9:28 a.m. crash, said Sgt. Dean DeVries of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department.

Police said DeBoer was driving west on Chicago Drive when the eastbound semi made a Michigan turn to go westbound and the truck driver failed to see the oncoming car. DeBoer’s car hit the semitrailer.

DeBoer was pinned in her vehicle and had to be extricated by Zeeland Township firefighters, DeVries said. She was wearing her seat belt.

The driver of the semi-truck — Jeffrey Alchema, 56, of Sparta — was not injured.
