A bicyclist escaped injury Thursday afternoon when he was struck by a pickup truck at the corner of Beechtree Street and Waverly Avenue in Grand Haven.

Emergency crews responded to the incident at about 1:20 p.m.

A man on a bicycle was traveling north in the crosswalk and was bumped by the truck, said Sgt. Josh Tomes of Grand Haven Department of Public Safety.

The truck driver had stopped for the red light westbound and was attempting to turn north onto Beechtree when he hit the bicycle.

The bicyclist was walking around and talking to paramedics after the collision. He did not go to the hospital.

The bike had minor damage.
