Hands-on help with health insurance marketplace offered at SLDL

• Dec 5, 2017 at 10:30 AM

The Affordable Care Act health insurance open enrollment period is currently underway, and the enrollment deadline of Dec. 15 is fast approaching.

Need help evaluating the plans available through the Health Insurance Marketplace? Come to Spring Lake District Library on Wednesday, Dec.6, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to get free, expert advice.

LeAnn LaFrance, who is a financial counselor at North Ottawa Community Health System and a Certified Application Counselor, will meet with individuals on a first-come, first-serve basis at the library.

LaFrance has three years of experience as Certified Application Counselor and can provide impartial and accurate information about the available insurance plans.

When you apply or renew your coverage in the Health Insurance Marketplace you’ll need to provide information about your household income, any coverage you currently have, and additional information.

Before coming to the library to compare health insurance plans, gather the following for each member of your family who needs health insurance coverage: social security numbers and birth dates, income information, policy numbers of current health plans, and enrollment info from last year, such as your account login information.

For more information, call the library at 616-846-5770. The library is located at 123 E. Exchange St. in Spring Lake.
