An ambulance transported Nathan Peterson to North Ottawa Community Hospital following the crash. His condition as of mid-Saturday morning was unknown, but his injuries appeared to be minor, said Sgt. Bob Ruster of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies and Grand Haven Township firefighters responded to the one-car crash on Lake Michigan Drive just east of Lakeshore Drive at 8:30 a.m. Initial reports were that the man was trapped inside his vehicle, but firefighters had him out within a few minutes.
Peterson was traveling west on Lake Michigan Drive when his 2013 Mini Cooper drifted off the south side of the road, struck a tree and spun around, Ruster said.
Police at the scene said a possible medical condition may have contributed to the crash. Alcohol was not a factor, they said.
The crash remains under investigation.
