Officers from the Holland Department of Public Safety responded to the store in the 800 block of Washington Avenue shortly before 8 p.m. on a report of an armed robbery. Officials said the suspect entered the store and demanded money from the clerk.
The suspect was holding a larger-frame semi-automatic pistol.
The suspect was described as a black man in his mid 20s; about 5 feet, 10 inches to 6 feet tall; 160-180 pounds; and wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, black mask, white gloves, black pants and white/black sneakers.
Holland officers with the help of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office and Michigan State Police set up a perimeter while the Holland K-9 officer attempted to track the suspect.
The suspect was last seen across the street from the store, but was not located.
