ALLENDALE TWP. — A 43-year-old Allendale man has been taken to the hospital following a two-car crash.

The crash took place at 8:03 a.m. Monday, May 7, on Pierce Street near 78th Avenue in Allendale Township.

Upon arriving at the crash scene, Ottawa County Sheriff’s deputies determined that 22-year-old Sarah Rozema, an Allendale resident, had exited her driveway eastbound onto Pierce Street. But as she was entering the roadway, her vehicle collided with another vehicle that was traveling west on Pierce. That second vehicle was driven by 43-year-old Chad Idsinga, another Allendale resident.

Both Idsinga and Rozema were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, said Sgt. Cal Keuning of the Sheriff’s Office.

Rozema was not injured in the crash, but Idsinga was transported by a Life EMS ambulance to Zeeland Hospital due to his injuries. He is listed in stable condition.

The incident remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.
