Holland and Saugatuck have made a Fodor's list of "25 Underrated Midwestern Towns to Visit This Fall."

Fodor's is the world's largest publisher of English-language travel and tourism information and the first relatively professional producer of travel guidebooks.

Fodor's praised Holland for its having the only North American production facility of Delft pottery in the De Klomp Wooden Shoe and Delft Factory. Unsurprisingly, Tulip Time was also praised.

"After a day of touring, retire to CityFlats Hotel, the Midwest's first hotel to earn LEED certification," the list said.

Saugatuck was praised as a "favorite weekend getaway" for Chicagoans.

"This artsy town along Lake Michigan boasts beaches and adorable spots to drink tea or beer, from Saugatuck Tea Co. to Saugatuck Brewing Co.," the list said. "Browse the town's 20 art galleries including Affordably French, all work by French artists. Not bad for a population of 925."

Grosse Pointe and Traverse City were the other two Michigan cities to make the list.

“A mention such as this for Holland is wonderful, and to have four Michigan towns listed is a bonus" said Sally Laukitis, executive director of the Holland Area Convention and Visitors Bureau. "As people look for fall travel ideas, a list such as this becomes a great resource, and one more marketing tool for us."
