Spring Lake resident Barb Carlson said she organizes the walk every year because “it’s a fun Halloween activity.”
“I’m a ‘Walking Dead’ fan too,” she said.
Walkers gathered by the Waterfront Stadium at 4 p.m. and paraded up one side of Washington Avenue and back down the other - making their turn at Seventh Street.
“We just do it every year,” said Grand Haven resident Theresa Hanson as she mugged for photos with her granddaughter, Savanah Mongar of West Ottawa.
Residents gathered in small groups throughout the downtown, taking photos and video as the motley group staggered by.
The only entry fee for the event is a donation of non-perishable food that is donated to the local food pantry, Carlson said.
