An annual operating millage renewal is on today’s ballot for voters in the Grand Haven school district.

Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The district is looking to renew the 18-mill operating millage, which is levied against non-principal residences and non-exempt properties. The millage is expected to generate more than $17 million, and it goes toward day-to-day operations such as salaries, maintenance, bus operations and classroom supplies.

In other Ottawa County communities, operating millage renewals will also be on the ballot for voters in the Hudsonville Public Schools, Kent City Community Schools, West Ottawa Public Schools and Zeeland Public Schools districts.

Hudsonville and Kent City district voters will also vote on sinking fund millage proposals.

Voters in Holland are being asked today to consider a 1-mill, five-year renewal of the community swimming pool millage.
