Congressman to host Academy Night in West Olive

WEST OLIVE — Congressman Bill Huizenga, R-Zeeland, will be hosting an Academy Night on Wednesday, April 12, for high school students who live in Michigan’s 2nd Congressional District and are interested in applying to one of our nation’s prestigious service academies.

The event will take place in the Commission Chambers of the Ottawa County Fillmore Complex, 12220 Fillmore St. in West Olive.

Huizenga will meet with interested students, parents and families from 5:30-6 p.m. All students are encouraged to arrive early to speak with academy representatives and congressional staff about the nomination process.

Service academy representatives will begin the formal presentation at 6 p.m. 

Representatives from the U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Coast Guard Academy, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, U.S. Military Academy at West Point and U.S. Naval Academy will be in attendance.
