The Center for Women in Transition provides assistance for women and children who are dealing with challenges from domestic violence, sexual assault and other life-changing situations. Charisse Mitchell, the center’s executive director, said CWIT helps 3,000 women per year, and it’s designed to support and empower them.
“You’re changing their lives, their world, every day,” Mitchell told the audience at Thursday night’s show at the Grand Hall of Harbourfront Place in downtown Grand Haven.
Mitchell also highlighted Rogers’ salon and their hard work to benefit the Center for Women in Transition. She said the event did a lot to show their spirit and commitment to the community.
“This is an organization and business that does so much for so many,” Mitchell said.
Nearly 40 models of all ages graced the runway with casual, formal and professional attire from local businesses and area fashion designers.
