During the culminating event on Friday, students showcased their new swimming skills to their parents. There was a penny dive, a pop dive in which students were able to search for cans of root beer, and an awards ceremony.

On Saturday, April 16, area children and their parents are invited to the local YMCA for a “play date” and commit to being active every day. The event is a part of the YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day — the nation’s largest health day for families.

The free event will take place between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Interactive games, activities and health giveaways will be offered.
