Cuatro Caminos Mexican restaurant closes

Kyle Moroney • Jul 21, 2015 at 10:58 AM

Cuatro Caminos opened in September 2010 after D’s Fleetwood Diner closed in that location a few months prior. D’s Fleetwood Diner closed following a laundry list of “critical” health code violations issued by the Ottawa County Health Department that were not corrected.

According to a Health Department inspection report the Tribune obtained through the Freedom of Information Act, Cuatro Caminos received several violations in November, but were immediately corrected.

The location next the Grand Haven 9 movie theater had originally been a Big Boy’s restaurant.

The Grand Haven Township Board approved a Class C liquor license for Cuatro Caminos in February and had forwarded it to the Michigan Liquor Control Commission. The license would have allowed the sale and consumption of alcohol on the premises.

Martinez said the state commission was taking too long in its approval process, and she could not continue waiting as restaurant sales declined.
