The public hearing is designed to gain input from those who would be impacted by the proposed special assessment. The special assessment would be split into two groups — core and non-core — and these groups would be assessed based on square footage of the building.

Following the public hearing, council is expected to delay taking more action on the PSD until the city’s Planning Commission sets boundaries of the PSD in the city’s Master Plan.

During a work session at 7 p.m. Monday, City Council will discuss proposed installation of four electric vehicle charging stations — three in city parking lots on Franklin Street and one in the marina parking lot on Harbor Drive.

The charging stations are a part of the ChargePoint America program, and the installation is being funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Energy as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
