After-school homework program gets funding for another year

This is the third year the program has received money from an anonymous donor, she said. The program also receives $4,000 from the Grand Haven Area Public Schools Foundation.

The money goes toward salaries, supplies, Internet for the program’s computers and other expenses.

C.H.I.L.L.” stands for “completing homework in a learning lab,” Boersema said — and that’s just what the program does. During the school year, students gather at the River Haven Village clubhouse every week, Monday through Thursday, to do their homework. Students can get help with their assignments or study a school subject.
