Library goes to the birds

“I think it’s wonderful that she’s been able to bring so many birds that so many of them don’t mind the kids touching them,” said Matthew’s mother, Andrea Dickinson. “It’s just fabulous.”

Davis, donned in a parrot shirt and skirt, told those attending the free program about the dangers parrots face in the wild and the importance of keeping the birds safe.

She said the animals hold a special place in her heart.

“This is what I thrive on,” Davis said. “If (I hadn’t) made a commitment to these guys, I think there would be times in my life I wouldn’t have made it.”

Davis repeated the program at Spring Lake District Library on Thursday afternoon.
