Planning Commission starts initial step to amending Master Plan for PSD

The Grand Haven Planning Commission voted unanimously Thursday night to recommend to City Council the distribution of the revised Master Plan review.

City Planner Kristin Keery said she will present the revised plan to City Council on July 18.

“We are looking at it as a tool for the MSDDA,” Grand Haven Main Street Downtown Development Authority Executive Director Dana Kollewehr said.

The current MSDDA would continue as-is, she said, and would make up the board of the new PSD.

City officials are amending the Master Plan to designate where a Principal Shopping District will be located because regulations require it to be defined before City Council can approve the new district.
