C3 Exchange relocating to Grand Haven in Sept.

C3 board members in May put the church facility at 225 E. Exchange St. in Spring Lake on the market — due to the high cost of mortgage payments, utility bills and upkeep, they said. The asking price is $1.9 million.

Lawton said there are three parties interested in the Exchange Street building, but declined to name the suitors or any potential future plans for the site.

“It could be anything from a church to someone who wants to use it for mixed use or a developer — any of these possibilities,” Lawton said. “There are at least three parties I’m aware of that have serious interest. They’ve taken several tours of the building. Hopefully, that will get resolved quickly.

Lawton said renting the Community Center on Sundays and a yet-to-be-determined weekday facility will save the congregation about $10,000 a month.
