Wind turbine ordinance language forwarded to council

Based on the recommended amendment to Grand Haven’s zoning ordinance, the wind turbines would be allowed as a special land use in all zoning districts of the city. This means that each case would need to come before the Planning Commission as a special land use request.

City Planner Kristin Keery said the turbine request process would currently follow the same fee structure as other special land use permits; however, she said it could change depending on the workload and if it got too costly for her department.
