“More or less, we’re going to take down all structures except for the (recreation) building that’s right at the edge of Fulton,” Joel Wachter said, adding that the Eagle Ottawa wastewater plant would also be spared from demolition.
According to Keery, the demolition project is expected to last six months.
Eagle Ottawa closed the plant in October 2006, ending the company’s 96-year history of hide tanning along the Grand River’s south channel. The property was sold to Eastpoint Development LLC in 2010.
