‘Neighbors’ photos on display at Muskegon museum

Anonymous • Jul 21, 2015 at 11:06 AM

The photographs featured in the exhibition reference an early 20th-century custom in which Americans had their pictures taken in front of the family home, car, barn or other prized possession. Those portraits gave a glimpse into what life was like for the subjects beyond the moment captured in the picture.

A catalogue illustrated with the “Neighbors” photographs will be available for purchase at the museum’s Gift Store during the exhibition’s run.

David Myers will discuss how the exhibition took shape when he leads a gallery walk at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7.
