Over the past several months, city officials have been working on the proposed additions to the Master Plan. According to City Planner Kristin Keery, the city has already gone through an extensive process to update the plan, with the Planning Commission’s decision being the latest step.
A draft update was presented to City Council in July, during which the city distributed the plan for a 42-day period to get feedback from the public and neighboring communities.
“We didn’t hear back from any of the neighboring municipalities,” Keery said.
Development of the Robbins Road plan began in 2010 when the city and Grand Haven Township hired LSL Planning and Progressive Engineering to craft an access management plan and design guideline study for the Robbins Road corridor between U.S. 31 and 168th Avenue.
Keery said the next step in the process is for the Master Plan update to be presented to City Council for approval.
