ArtWalk parties in Centertown

Organizers do not yet have a final count for Wednesday’s block party. However, Anthony’s Kicked Up Catering, which roasted the pig, went through 200 pounds of pulled pork throughout the four-hour event, Gates said.

Attendees were given samples of food from various Centertown restaurants, but many returned to various restaurants throughout the event to purchase meal-sized portions.

In addition to the pig roast, JW’s Food & Spirits served its white chicken chili and chips, Morning Star Cafe baked fresh desserts, and Lemon Creek Winery poured sparkling and non-alcoholic beverages during the event. One Eye’d Jacks, Rendezvous, Mr. Scrib’s Pizza and Arturo’s Tacos also served food for the block party.

Block parties have been taking place in various ArtWalk districts throughout the two-week event, Gates said.

“We’re really trying to promote all of the venue districts,” she said. “Centertown is a little geographically different (as the businesses are set farther apart). We just wanted to showcase the food, businesses and organizations there.
