ructors fascinating.

Hasselbring said she takes nature walks every day with her yellow Lab, Max.

“I just love being out of doors,” said Hasselbring, 66, who recently published her third children’s book in the “Tales from Pelican Cove” series — “Ossie the Brave Fish Hawk.”

The author, whose latest work was published by Tate Publishing, will host a book signing from 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Village Baker, 617 E. Savidge St. in Spring Lake.

“The story is entertaining, but it’s also educational,” said Hasselbring, who retired eight years ago after almost four decades of teaching elementary students for Grand Haven Area Public Schools. “There are things that are going on in nature that are just amazing to me.”
