Volunteers, yards sought for ‘Rake a Difference’

Anonymous • Jul 21, 2015 at 11:11 AM

This annual volunteer initiative is sponsored and coordinated by the local United Way to assist the elderly or people with disabilities in Ottawa County who need a neighborly hand. United Way is partnering with students in its Students Live United program to leverage the enthusiasm and energy of young volunteers.

Individuals, families and other groups are welcome to be a part of “Rake a Difference.”

If you or someone you know needs help with raking, or if you wish to rake as an individual or a team, contact Shannon Morton, director of volunteerism at United Way, at 842-7130, or e-mail smorton@ottawaunitedway.org, no later than Friday, Oct. 28.

Helpers and those needing help will be matched up and receive their assignments by Nov. 8.
