North Bank Hardware, 17697 174th Ave., opened Sept. 21 in about 12,000 square feet of space next to the Leppink’s Food Centers store.

“I think it’s an excellent location,” Store Director Dan Boggiano said. “People don’t have to travel over the bridge to go to a hardware store and they don’t have to go to a ‘Big Box’ store. We have been getting a lot of positive feedback based off that.”

North Bank Hardware is a Do it Best affiliate and offers screen repair, key making, balloons, computerized paint mixing, and lawn mower blade and chainsaw sharpening. In the spring, the store will feature a full line of non-phosphorous fertilizers, according to Boggiano, who has a background in hardware and building materials.

North Bank Hardware is co-owned by John Leppink and Rich Cole. The store employs 10, doubling the number of workers at Grand Dollar.
