Costumed creatures wandered through Walden Green, munching on walking tacos and playing games that were designed by the middle school students.

“We’re trying to provide an inexpensive night for families,” said Ann Grahek, the school’s foundation chairwoman. “Our fall festival is kind of our Halloween party.”

About 200 attended Walden Green’s gig, including the Statue of Liberty, fifth grader Louise Vega.

Crested with a crown, Louise admired fellow costumed characters.

“There are a lot of costumes I like here,” said Louise, 10, who made the flowing blue costume with the help of her mom, Lesley. “I really like the green pig over there and the angry birds.”

The Martin Family – Rich, Michelle and Trevor — alias the “angry birds” crunched on walking tacos as they took a break from the fun.

“This is a great way to get the families together to enjoy an evening out and to raise money for the school,” Michelle said.
