Zombies patrol downtown GH

“It was just a fun way for the Tri-Cities Historical Museum to partner with Central Park Players to do something different,” event organizer Barb Carlson said.

The Zombie Walk followed a pre-determined route taking costumed zombies from the Tri-Cities Historical Museum, down Washington Avenue to Seventh Street, west on Columbus Avenue to Harbor Drive, then back to the museum.

Carlson said participants were asked to bring a donation to Love INC in order to participate.

According to Carlson, more people than what was anticipated participated in the first-ever event. She said organizers estimated about 300 people showed up for it, with an equal number lining the streets to watch.

“It was really fun and it was really interesting to see everyone’s different take on a zombie,” Carlson said.

Carlson said when she was first beginning to organize the event, she didn’t think more than 20 people would participate in it.

“I was really surprised how many people were there,” she said.

Carlson said there is talk of doing the event again next year.
