Local cleaner seeks outerwear for donation drive

“In 2004, we had a record year with 960 donations,” said LeAnn Plantenga-Glasser, owner of the local cleaner business. “Our goal is to exceed this number as there are so many in need right here in our own backyard.”

Coat and outwear donations are collected by the four locations of Plantenga’s Cleaners throughout November, cleaned and repaired as needed, and then distributed through The Salvation Army. Coats are needed for men, women and children.

“Many have an abundance of winter outerwear that is no longer worn or possibly outgrown,” Plantenga-Glasser said. “All you have to do is dig into your closets and we’ll handle the rest.”
