The public is invited and admission is free.

The concert will open with the “Overture to Coriolanus,” by Ludwig van Beethoven. Soprano Caitlin McDougall, who is a senior from Flint, will be joined by 10 cellos from the orchestra in Heitor Villa-Lobos’ “Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5 for soprano and orchestra of violoncelli.” To conclude the concert, the orchestra will perform “Symphony No. 5, in D major, Op. 107” (the “Reformation Symphony”), by Felix Mendelssohn.

The Hope College Orchestra is directed by Richard Piippo, associate professor of music.
