The three join seated councilmen Bob Monetza and Dennis Scott.
“I am excited,” McCaleb said. “When we get going on issues, it will be interesting.”
McCaleb was elected a week ago to a two-year term over write-in candidates Ken Sharkey and Chris Collette. McCaleb received 897 votes, Sharkey had 656 votes and Collette had one vote.
Hierholzer said he was also excited to take over in his official capacity as the newest member of City Council and provide a fresh slate of ideas. He takes the seat that was previously held by Ed Nieuwenhuis, who decided not to run for re-election.
The new City Council also took their first official actions on Monday night. Fritz was selected mayor pro-tem, Fritz and Monetza were named to the Audit Committee, and McCaleb was appointed to the city’s Main Street Downtown Development Authority.
