Muskegon Museum of Art to look back at its ‘First 100 Years’

Anonymous • Jul 21, 2015 at 11:15 AM

“Pictures of the Best Kind: the First 100 Years” will feature paintings, sculpture, glass, drawings and prints acquired by the museum since 1912. Many exceptional works that are less frequently seen, in addition to all-time favorites, will be on display.

The show opens for public viewing at 10 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 11. It will run through Jan. 29, 2012.

A series of public programs — such as lectures, films and family days — will also be presented in conjunction with the exhibition.

A souvenir wall calendar commemorating the 1912 centennial year will be available for purchase at the museum gift shop. The calendar features 12 of the most prized artworks in the museum’s collection.

The Muskegon Museum of Art is at 296 W. Webster Ave. in downtown Muskegon.
