Library launches Adopt-a-Book for the Holidays

Anonymous • Jul 21, 2015 at 11:15 AM

Here’s how the project works: Visit the library for the opportunity to select a book to “adopt” and add to the library’s collection. Choose an ornament from the tree in the circulation area with the name and cost of the item that will be purchased for the library. Take the ornament to the Information Desk, along with a check or cash, and library staff will do the rest.

There are more than 30 items from which to choose: including books for children, teens and adults. If a specific book isn’t represented on the tree, librarians can add it to the list if it fits within the library’s collection development policy.

When the item arrives, library staff will contact the purchaser and place a book plate in it to recognize the gift. Staff will also notify the honoree of the gift.
