The event takes place annually on the Saturday morning after New Year’s Day.

“It is just one of the things we do,” said Sam Janson, upcoming Jaycees president.

On Saturday, Jan. 7, the Jaycees will pick up and recycle Christmas trees that are left at the curb by homeowners in the cities of Grand Haven and Ferrysburg, and Spring Lake Village. The Jaycees will pick up real Christmas trees only — and, according to Janson, it would be best to have trees at the curb on Friday, Jan. 6.

“Trees that are not out to the curb by 8 a.m. on Saturday may be missed,” he said.

Christmas trees in Grand Haven will be picked up south to Robbins Road and east to Mercury Drive.

In Ferrysburg, they will be picked up north to Van Wagoner Road and east to Smith’s Bayou.

In Spring Lake Village, they will be picked up north to Lake Beach Drive and east to North Fruitport Road.
