Michelle Martin named Ottawa County DHS chief

State Director Maura Corrigan appointed Martin, who has worked in the post of acting director of the Ottawa County office for the past year.

Martin has worked for the Michigan Department of Human Services for the past 20 years. She began her career as a payments worker in Kent County. In 1992, Martin transferred to Allegan County, where she served as a children’s foster care worker and a juvenile justice worker. In 1997, she was promoted to the post of payments manager.

Since 2003, Martin has served as program manager, community resource coordinator and in adult services.
