Traditional Jewish dances to be taught at library
Jul 21, 2015 at 11:20 AM
Hope College dance instructor Linda Booker will teach participants steps to three traditional Jewish folk dances and explain their cultural significance.
Adults and children age 10 and up are invited to participate in this free class. No formal dance experience is required to learn the easy steps to Hava Nagila, Mayim and Tzadik Katamar.
This presentation is one of several programs in the Maurice Sendak Program Series at the library. It is in conjunction with the national traveling exhibit “In a Nutshell: The Worlds of Maurice Sendak” on display at the library through Feb. 24. “In a Nutshell” examines the people, places, and world events that influenced Sendak’s award-winning works.
