The intent of the meeting is to respond to the concerns of health and safety, data privacy, and data security issues related to the installation of Smart Meter technology.
These issues were raised during a meeting hosted by the Michigan Public Service Commission in Grand Haven on Nov. 17, 2011.
Additionally, the MPSC on Jan. 12 launched an investigation into the deployment of Smart Meters. The investigation will require all electric utilities to submit information on the meters regarding issues such as deployment, costs, health and safety concerns, and other privacy concerns.
Tuesday’s meeting is expected to start at 7 p.m. at the center’s Mackinaw Room.
