Grand Haven Township resident Mark Green has been named the new executive director of the Grand Haven ministry.
“I am humbled and thrilled at the opportunity,” Green said. “It was a great process that Eric (Morgan) and the Board of Directors went through to locate the person for the position.”
Morgan said Green will officially begin in his new role March 11. The position, previously held by Morgan until he was promoted in January, manages the three ministry facets of Love INC.
“The staff lead by example, and Mark will be no different,” Morgan said, referencing the training process that Green will undergo once he begins. “He’ll be on the front lines answering phones, assisting with donations and meeting with clients.”
Morgan said this training process is to get Green used to the people — both clients and volunteers — that he will be working with on a daily basis.
For the last 14 years, Green has also served at Lakeshore Baptist Church in Grand Haven Township. He’s spent 10 years as youth pastor and four years as associate pastor, with responsibilities including administrating Lakeshore Christian Academy and Kids’ Kampus Daycare.
The church received notice of Green’s resignation on Sunday.
