Wind advisory through tonight

The National Weather Service office in Grand Rapids said the south to southwest winds of 25-35 mph, with gusts to around 50 mph will occur this afternoon and evening.

The strong winds may cause tree limbs to fall, possibly causing property damage and scattered power outages.

The forecast for the Grand Haven area:

This afternoon: A 30-percent chance of rain after 4 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 57. Windy, with a south-southwest wind at around 30 mph.

Tonight: Rain, mainly after 7 p.m. Low around 37. Breezy, with a south wind 22 to 28 mph, becoming west-northwest. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Thursday: A chance of rain and snow before 1 p.m. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a temperature falling to around 37 by 9 a.m. Breezy, with a west-northwest wind at 16 to 21 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
