Frost advisory for early Friday

The advisory area also includes Muskegon, Montcalm, Gratiot, Kent, Ionia, Clinton, Allegan, Barry, Eaton, Ingham, Van Buren, Kalamazoo, Calhoun and Jackson counties.

The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids issued the frost advisory because temperatures will fall to near freezing toward morning on Friday. We can expect widespread frost east of U.S. 31 after 2 a.m.

Damage to unprotected vegetation is likely. Potted plants normally left outdoors should be covered or brought inside tonight.

The forecast for the Grand Haven area:


Widespread frost after 2 a.m. Otherwise, mostly clear, with a low around 38. West wind around 5 mph becoming calm.


Widespread frost before 9 a.m. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 60. South-southeast wind between 5 and 10 mph.
