The GVSU Rowing Club will host this event that features some of the top collegiate rowing crews in the Midwest. Racing begins at 8:30 a.m. and concludes at 2 p.m. The main viewing area is the Spring Lake Yacht Club, 17500 W. Spring Lake Road, but you can't park there. Park at Water Tower Park, at the corner of VanWagoner and West Spring Lake roads, and take the shuttle. Another good spot to watch is from Lakeside Beach in Spring Lake Village.

(2) The Boogie-Woogie Kid will be tickling the ivories at Loutit District Library from 2-3 p.m. Sunday.
This is part of the Grand Haven library's monthly Free Sunday Concert Series. Matthew Bell will play fun piano music in the library's upper lobby.
(3) The Tri-Cities Kiwanis Club will be hosting a fish fry and silent auction from 5-7 p.m. Friday.
It will take place at the Eagles club, 20 N. Second St. in downtown Grand Haven. Walleye, shrimp and chicken dinners will be served, with prices ranging from $7 to $11 a dinner. This event is a fundraiser for the Kiwanis Club to help them with their community projects. It will also include entertainment and a silent auction.

(4) Role playing games at Loutit District Library from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday.
Do you enjoy role-playing games? Bring a brown bag lunch and join the fun. The first role-playing game will be Pathfinder. They say it's OK if you've never played before. Come and create a new character or adapt an old one from Dungeons and Dragons. This is for ages 13 and up. Adults welcomed and encouraged. The games will take place in Program Room B of the library, 407 Columbus Ave.
(5) Peter Mulvey will perform at Seven Steps Up's Pin Drop Concert at 8 p.m. Sunday.
Mulvey is said to have "a quirky take on life and an extraordinary guitar style." Seven Steps Up is at 116 S. Jackson St. in Spring Lake. Tickets are a bit pricey. For details, visit runamokpromotions.com.
