Garden club's show is “Dining by Design”

Anonymous • Jul 21, 2015 at 11:38 AM

It will take place at Spring Lake District Library, 123 E. Exchange St.

The show will feature more than 200 horticulture exhibits grown by club members and community gardeners. Horticulture sections will include an array of planters and hanging baskets. Gardeners will compete for the best roses, flowering shrubs, bulbs, rhizomes, and tubers, as well as annuals and perennials in bloom during flower show week.

The show will also include 36 floral designs and 12 artistic craft exhibits. Both of these types of floral artistry will feature fresh and dried flowers, as artificial flowers cannot be used anywhere in a National Garden Club Member show.

Area youth will be represented by creating floral arrangements for judging under the direction of club members and with the help of library staff. There will also be exhibits showing a variety of container gardens and the importance of our fresh water supply.

The show is open from 3-8:30 p.m. today, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
