Friday, Oct. 26

Historic Halloween from 5-7:30 p.m. at VanRaalte Farm, 1076 16th St., Holland. A not-too-scary treat-filled trail, cider, cookies, campfire. Cost is $3 per child, $2 per adult. After 7 p.m., bring a flashlight. No registration required.

Monsters’ bash from 6-8 p.m. in the gym at Ferrysburg City Hall, 17290 Roosevelt Road. Free admission; children younger than 10 must be accompanied by an adult. Costume contests, dancing, cider, doughnuts and prizes.

Halloween dance from 7-10 p.m. at the 200 Washington Ave., Grand Haven. Presented by the Friends of the Museum Committee. $10 charge at door. Music by "Entourage," light refreshments, and come dressed in costume if you wish.

Saturday, Oct. 27

The Famous Pumpkin Train departs at 11 a.m., 1 and 3 p.m. at the Coopersville and Marne Railway, 311 Danforth St., Coopersville. Passengers are entertained during the journey by The Great Pumpkin, Scarecrow and Little crow. Each paid child's ticket includes a free pumpkin that the kids can pick at the end of the ride. Call 616-997-7000 for reservations.

The Haunted Museum will be from 2-4 p.m. at the Tri-Cities Historical Museum, 200 Washington Ave., Grand Haven. Members of the Central Park Players and Tri-Cities Historical Museum will be working together to haunt visitors. Free admission.

Grand Haven Zombie Walk! will start at 4:30 p.m. All zombies are asked to be at the museum by this time for a walk to Central Park and back. Those wishing to participate are asked to bring a canned or boxed food item that will be donated to a local food pantry.

Sunday, Oct. 28

Wednesday, Oct. 31

Spooky books and candy at the Spring Lake District Library. The first 30 children who visit the library between 4 and 6 p.m. will be given a scary book in addition to their candy treat. The library is located at 123 East Exchange St.

Grand Haven merchants will host trick-or-treating from 4-6 p.m. along Washington Avenue from Harbor to Third Street.

Spring Lake merchants will host Halloween Downtown candy giveaway from 4-6 p.m. Participating merchants will put a big orange pumpkin in their front windows.

Residential trick-or-treating in Grand Haven, Spring Lake, Ferrysburg and Fruitport will be from 6-8 p.m.

Candy giveaway by Christian Haven Home residents from 6-8 p.m. Christian Haven Home is located at 704 Pennoyer Ave, Grand Haven.
